Arm Lift

-IS AN ARM LIFT RIGHT FOR YOU?

The upper arms tend to accumulate excess fat and redundant skin over time, creating “bat wings” that are especially apparent with the arms raised. An arm lift, or brachioplasty, may be indicated if your arms seem flabby or the skin is saggy or dimpled. Liposuction can be a good alternative if the skin is relatively tight and fat removal is the primary goal.

Arm Lift Recovery Time & Process

Compression garments are worn to reduce swelling and encourage proper skin contouring after surgery. Pain medication is given before, during and after surgery so you are always as comfortable as possible. Bruising and swelling lasts 2-4 weeks, and you may be able to resume strenuous activities in 4-6 weeks.

About The Arm Lift Procedure

our doctor  performs arm lift as same-day surgery under general anesthesia. He places the incisions more toward your back of the arm or more toward the inside according to your activities, clothing habits and personal preferences. Arm lift is performed through short incisions that extend from the skin above the elbow up into the underarm

Preparing for Your Arm Lift

How do I prepare for my arm lift / brachioplasty?

We ask patients to stop taking medications that may increase bleeding including aspirin, Plavix, NSAIDS (i.e. ibuprofen, Advil, Alleve, etc), and herbal supplements like vitamin E. Patients should be in good health and ensure they have their blood pressure controlled. A healthy diet and avoidance of all nicotine products are also essential to help ensure proper healing and excellent results from your arm lift surgery. In addition, nutritional supplementation is an important part of the healing process. We encourage all of our patients to begin protein shakes or juices 3-4 weeks before and after surgery.
