Thread Lift
-PDO Thread Lift
PDO (polydioxanone) has been used in surgery for many years but has been developed into an aesthetic procedure to help stimulate collagen production as well as lift the skin using Cog threads.
PDO threading is the latest in skin rejuvenation and skin lifting treatments giving an immediate and visible result. PDO thread lifts are a tried and tested cosmetic treatment designed to restore the shape of your face and neck, by improving sagging skin and jowls.
the doctor will recommend the best thread lift treatment for you, expertly positioning special absorbable surgical threads into the area or areas to be treated. The threads are then tightened to pull the skin up, and slight pressure is applied to gently reshape the contours of your face. Tiny cones or barbs on the thread also stimulate collagen production to give you continuing improvement over time.
The results are instant and last between 12 and 18 months. Clients look fresher and more youthful, with more defined facial contours.
A non-surgical facelift with PDO threads is most effective in patients aged between 35 and 65 but can also be beneficial for older clients depending on an assessment of their skin condition. A PDO thread facelift can be used to improve the appearance of:
- eyebrows that sag or are asymmetrical
- laughter lines around the nose and mouth
- sagging cheeks
- the mid and lower face (the jowls or a sagging jawline)
- the neck & décolletage.
Lead Fine Lift (LFL) is a premium lifting thread made of PDO (Polydioxanone) which is absorbed after proliferating collagen and by stimulating fibroblasts. Everyone can experience overall face contouring and skin elasticity. It brings a natural and dramatic effect to face and body after a simple and safe treatment. The superior quality of the Ultra-Thin Wall Needle allows treatment to be straightforward, effective and painless. The production process for the LFL product line is automated, modern and clean, resulting in state-of-the-art technology.

What is LFL Face lift?
LFL Face Lift is a procedure which rejuvenates, regenerates and improves the structure of the face, in a similar way to a surgical facelift, but without the need for surgery. The Thread Lift uses specialized threads which are introduced into the skin with very fine needles to lift tissue and muscle and improve skin texture.
-How does the PDO Thread Lift work?
The threads used in the Thread Lift are made of soluble PDO which is a material that has been used in medicine for many years, mainly in surgery. However, research has shown that PDO relaxes muscles and tendons, and also stimulates the neocollagenesis process, which encourages the production of new collagen in the skin. PDO also stimulates the synthesis of elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin, both of which are vital for keeping the skin looking plump and youthful. A lifted appearance can be seen immediately following the treatment; however, the results will improve in the following days and weeks as the PDO stimulates neocollagenesis, which in turn produces collagen. The overall texture of the skin is improved; it becomes thicker, tighter and firmer and fine lines and wrinkles are smoothed away.
-The newest generation of LFL: ANCHOR
Up until now, Barb/Cog thread is the most effective and efficient for face lifting but with one weakness. Since its principle is to chip or make cuts on the PDO thread and lift up the part where it has been cut, this progress can damage the thread. And when inserted in the face or body, the thread accelerates degradability so it cannot provide long lasting result.
To cover this weakness, NEW BARB type thread is developed called ‘’ANCHOR.’’ Distinct from previous cutting method, the thread is produced by press moulding technique to minimize the damage to the thread which will slow down the degradability and makes it longer lasting. Also, specially designed cogs enable to fix the skin tighter with powerful lifting effect. ANCHOR with upgraded features emerges a lot of positive feedbacks from patients who concern about deep/fine wrinkles, round shaped jaws and sagging skins. With this consumers trend, consumption rate of ANCHOR has been rapidly increasing since it was introduced in many clinics.
-What are the benefits of PDO Thread Lift?
Areas that can be treated include lifting of eye brow, cheeks, corner of the mouth, naso-labial fold and neck. With correct placement of the threads, you shall notice a more defined jawlines and the face appear more “V” shaped. Since absorbable sutures are used, there will not be any foreign body in the skin after 6 months.
-How is the procedure performed?
After cleansing and sterilization of the face, anesthetic in the form of cream or direct injection can be given to reduce discomfort sensation. The doctor will choose the most appropriate type of threads and place it accordingly at various part of your face. The procedure takes about 60 minutes.
-How long do the results last?
The PDO threads will give the skin an immediate, natural improvement in appearance. After about 10-14 days, the process of natural body protein synthesis begins and continues over a period of two years, keeping the texture of the skin smooth and supple. The threads will remain in the skin for 6 months. Collagen stimulation and lifting will persist even after they are being fully absorbed. With proper care, the lifting effect will still last for another year or more, giving a total effect of approximately 2 years.
Patient selection and good communication is essential!
It is important, prior to any treatment, that certain criteria are assessed to determine the patient’s suitability for PDO threads. Firstly, the patient’s medical history has to be checked. Auto-immune diseases, hepatitis B and C, HIV infection, pregnancy and breastfeeding, anti-coagulation therapy, existing infection and history of keloid formation are all contraindications for treatment.
-Are there any side effects?
This is a safe clinic procedure with no serious side effects other than some bruises and minimal bleeding over the thread insertion sites. Since thread lift involves no surgery or incision, there is typically no downtime. A little swelling and bruising may be observed especially on the areas where the threads were inserted but it usually resolves in 3-4 days. Cold compress may help minimize swelling especially when applied just after the treatment.
Pain is usually very minimal if there is any. Redness may occur but on very rare cases as well. Bruises may be covered with make up a day after the treatment if you really have to go out and you want to mask the bruise but leaving the area to just heal will be a lot better
